ABOUT ME
B.E.Equine’s trainer, Becca Dunaj, grew up outside of Chicago, IL. She started riding western at a young age. As she grew and progressed in her riding she switched to hunter/jumpers and decided she wanted to pursue showjumping and eventing.
Becca attended Delaware Valley University and obtained a dual Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology and Equine Instruction and Training. Through DelVal, she worked at various facilities and rode whatever she was allowed to. She also took advantage of the opportunity to do a semester abroad at Hartpury University, attending various courses to learn as much as possible.
Upon graduation, she permanently moved to Bucks County, PA, taking a position with a local rescue as the assistant trainer. Through this experience she grew her skills of handling horses and ponies with unknown pasts, restarting many slowly and patiently so that they could find wonderful new homes.
During a brief hiatus from being a professional in the equine industry, she bought her Haflinger gelding, Lucky. She found her passion again in the golden poof, as he is affectionately called, and returned to the industry full time. Since then, Becca has become a certified Center Riding Instructor as well as a certified Franklin Method instructor. She has also taken Lucky to ride with numerous Olympians, including Lilian Heard, Boyd Martin, Buck Davidson, and Dom Schramm. Lucky has had to take a step back in his work due to injury and is now enjoying the life of semi-retirement as Becca focuses her attention onto her new eventing prospect, Outpatient Therapy, "Mickey."
She is currently riding under Marilyn Payne, enjoying soaking up every bit of knowledge she can while enjoying the horsemanship exhibited from the elite rider and judge.
As Becca continues to grow her community within this industry, she has accepted a position as an Assistant Instructor for Straight Forward Dressage where she has been given the opportunity to teach on their wonderful crew of Schoolmaster lesson horses.
